forehead. my guess and i’m just spitballin’ here but ted got more cheek than forehead kisses as a kid. they visit his dad’s side of the family every once in a long, long time and his lady cousins and his aunts have always had this godawful habit of wanting to slobber all over their relatives’ cheeks when they meet for birthday dinners, christmas feats, thanksgiving, and/or other important holidays. and since ted doesn’t really know these people as much as he’d like (or wouldn’t like!) and he’s still being forced to feel these strangers’ lips against his skin whether he’s fond of them or not, the gesture’s always felt insincere more than familiar or comforting and he isn’t about it.
and getting kissed on the neck, that’s pretty close to heaven right there— it’s a sure-fire way to make ted melt under your lips. kisses just about anywhere below the chin are really something for him but his neck and earlobes are probably the most sensitive in upper areas.
