_{❛  waiting can be a most uneventful chore.  ❜  and a sure-fire way to cross the border into snoresville as he’s told her countless times before. he had stopped by the gas station slash convenience store on his way to his distinguished colleague, bill s. preston’s house to get snacks when he found pam waiting for…whoever he or she was outside, standing under the light pollution of their neon. she looked nice that friday night— not that she doesn’t always look nice but tonight, she looked especially looked the part: not a single hair was out of place on top of her head and he almost swears he’s never seen her wear these gorgeous threads. she must be going on a date!}

_{he turned to look away, sucking some air into his lungs before he lets it out again. the thought of pam going out with someone broke his heart a little but he can’t help but feel happy for her too. after everything she’s done to help get him in the right path, music-wise; she deserves to get her rocks off with whoever she wants every once in a while. he was gonna show up to bill’s place a little later than expected but he’s determined to keep his friend company until her date arrives. not that he would mind, he’d perfectly understand. especially if it involved their most triumphant friend and continuing source of inspiration.  ❛  but have no fear, ted ‘theodore’ logan is here and he will stay and keep you company!  ❜}

_{this isn’t a case of someone being a ‘no show jones’, ted. they’re just…running a little a late. he repeated the phrase in his head over and over again. maybe if he repeats it enough times, he’ll eventually start to believe it which— unfortunately, he didn’t.}
